We build what we designed.
Soil prep, hardscape, irrigation, planting, and finish work — carried out by the same crew from ground-break to final walk-through. No subcontractor daisy chains.
What landscape installation looks like with Ponderosa
Installation is where most Colorado landscapes fail or thrive. Compacted clay doesn't drain. Irrigation trenches cross root zones. Rock mulch goes down before the weed fabric is lapped. We've seen it all, and we don't cut the corners that cause those failures.
Our crew ranges from three to five people depending on the project, and they stay on your site from start to finish. You get weekly photo updates, a firm end date, and a 30- and 90-day post-install check to catch settling, irrigation gremlins, or anything else that wants attention before the warranty year closes.
What every landscape installation job includes.
No hidden line-items. If it isn't in your estimate, we tell you before we do it — not after.
- Soil testing and amendment — compost, pH correction, gypsum for clay
- Grading and drainage correction where needed
- Irrigation sleeves placed before hardscape
- Steel, stone, or composite edging on all beds
- Weed fabric (woven, 15-year rated) under rock mulch
- 2–3" mulch or rock chosen to match the plan
- All plants watered in, staked if needed
- One-year plant and workmanship warranty
- Post-install visits at 30 and 90 days
- Full cleanup, haul-off, and walk-through on the last day
How we get there.
The same 5-step rhythm on every landscape installation project we take on.
-
01
Pre-construction meeting
We walk the site together, mark utilities, stake the layout, and confirm material selections. You sign off before any machinery arrives.
-
02
Demo & grading
Selective tear-out of what's being replaced. Rough-grade corrections for drainage. Haul-off same week.
-
03
Hardscape & irrigation
Walls, patios, edging, and the irrigation backbone go in first. These are the pieces you can't easily change later.
-
04
Planting & mulch
Soil amendment, plant installation (trees first, then shrubs, then perennials), drip lines tuned, mulch or rock applied.
-
05
Final walk
We walk every zone, demonstrate the controller, hand over warranty paperwork, and leave the property cleaner than we found it.
Honest numbers before you sign.

Questions we get a lot.
If you don't see your question, give us a call or send a note. Most emails get answered the same business day.
How soon can you start?
Spring and fall are our busiest seasons; book 6–10 weeks out. Summer installs can often start in 2–4 weeks. Winter hardscape-only builds have the shortest lead time.
Do you pull permits?
Yes, when required. Walls over 4 ft, gas lines for fire features, and some drainage work need permits in Colorado Springs. We handle the paperwork.
Will you match plants to my HOA palette?
Yes. Send us the approved list and we'll design within it. We've worked with most Colorado Springs HOAs and know the common restrictions.
What happens if a plant dies?
Under our 12-month warranty, we replace it at no charge as long as the irrigation zone was operational and the plant wasn't damaged by pets, deer, or equipment. We don't play warranty games.
Can I do some of the work myself?
Absolutely. Many clients pour their own mulch, plant seasonal annuals, or do the finish painting on wood elements. We'll stage the project so your work happens in the right order.
